Fade Out:

Finally! I completed a short screenplay I've been thinking about for over a year! It's a passion project, not meaning an art film, inspired from a mixture of sources including my girlfriend Katie and Universal Studios Hollywood.

This short is about a girl who travels time to discover why her parents divorced. The story is personal to me and my relationship with my dad and spawned while hanging out at Universal Studios. I kept it cooking in my mind while shooting my first organized production, "A la Carte" aka "Carts" and until recently, never thought I was getting what was in my head onto the page.

I learned to use a great tool for all writers: the speak control in Final Draft. This tool allows the writer to assign voices to characters and the narrator and sit back, listen, and visualize the material for the first time as an audience. It made me realize what I needed to fix and how to do it and now I'm in pre-production!
